WOMEN’S INTER-CLUB TENNIS ASSOCIATION OF PHILADELPHIA

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF NOVEMBER 9, 2006

Following the presentation of awards by Match Chairman, Gail Yard, the meeting was called to order by President, Chris Morrison at 10:06 a.m.

Absent were:  Buckingham, Dupont, Germantown, Haddonfield, Philmont, Picket Post, PlyMar, Radnor Valley, Riverton, West Chester.

President, Chris Morrison, introduced the Executive Committee and then requested the Club Representatives to introduce themselves.

The minutes of the meeting of March 23, 2006,  were approved as read.

Treasurer, Janet Dzubow, presented the Treasurer’s Report and Annual Financial Report which shows a balance of $5, 375.51.  The reports were filed for audit. The proposed budget for 2006-2007 was also presented.

Match Chairman, Gail Yard, commented on the overall good season.  She reminded all of the representatives to strictly enforce the no-cell phone rule.  Gail also noted that it is the player’s responsibility, whose cell phone rang, to forfeit the match.

Marie Zweier, Scheduling, reported the addition of a new team for both Cedarbrook and White Manor.  Donna Beers, Secretary, reported that Cynwyd will not be fielding a team this year.  Marie asked that any club who wants to add a team or drop a team must notify her before January.

Beverly Carroll, 2nd Vice-President, asked the representatives to encourage players to participate in the Hammonds Cup at Merion in July.

Lucy Rainone, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, presented the 2007 slate for the Executive Committee and thanked the members for their participation.

There being no nominations from the floor, the above slate was unanimously elected.

Connie Ebert, Admissions, reported that no new clubs had applied for or declined admission to Inter-club.

New Business – Barbara Pitochelli asked about the results of the survey regarding individual recognition or team recognition for teams winning their cups.  There were fourteen clubs who responded and the opinion was divided in half.  The Committee will discuss what will be done for 2007.

The next meeting will be held on JANUARY 4, 2007 at 10:00 in the Card Room.  All representatives should come to the January meeting with the names and phone numbers of their team captains.
