History
The Women's Inter-Club Tennis Association was originally an informag group of interested people representing the following clubs:
Belmont
Germantown Cricket Club
Merion Cricket Club
Philadelphia Cricket Club
The first record or written rules was July 5th, 1899.
The frist record of offical minutes was April 7th, 1908.
This association operated jointly with the Women's Advisory Committe of the Middle States Lawn Tennis Association by the same personnel, until the growth of tennis and its expansion forced the group to divide.
We are proud to have been recognized as the "Organization of the Year" for 1993 by the Philadelphia area District Tennis Association, and also, in 1994 by the USTA/Middle States.
In this, our 109 th year, we continue the philosophy of resonsibillity to the ongoing tennis program with Middle States and friendly competition for players of all ability levels representing the 55 member clubs.
