WOMEN’S INTER-CLUB TENNIS ASSOCIATION OF PHILADELPHIA

      MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF APRIL 3, 2008

A regular meeting of the Women’s Inter-club Tennis Association was held on April 3, 2008 at The Merion Cricket Club.

Absent:  Frog Hollow, Moorestown, The Sports Club of New Jersey

Chris Morrison, Past President, opened the meeting for Gail Yard, President, who was unable to attend. Chris asked the Representatives to return the ballots distributed before the meeting. The Representatives were asked to vote for one of three different options for the Monday Cups. The first option was: 1) Two singles & five doubles. 2) One singles & five doubles. 3) One singles and six doubles.   She also asked the Representatives to make sure they signed in and listed a correct e-mail address.

The minutes of the January 10, 2008 meeting were approved as read.

Joy Susanin, Treasurer, reported a balance of $11, 163.04.

Clubs with outstanding dues are:  Delaware Valley Tennis Club, Green

Valley Tennis Club/N.J., Highpoint, Mill Dam, Pennypacker, Riverton, White Manor. Clubs must have their dues paid before the first match.

Beverly Carroll, 2nd Vice President, reported that the Club Coordinators’ meeting and lunch will be held on April 10 at The Merion Cricket Club.

Janet Dzubow, Match Chairman, distributed the Captains’ bags.  She asked the Representatives to check their bags for the proper line-up forms and scorecards.  Janet requested that the Representatives meet with their Captains as soon as possible.  She emphasized the importance of listing the substitutes correctly.  All players must have a current USTA number. Substitutes who play more than two times must have a USTA number. Janet asked that all rosters be completed and signed before the Captains’ meeting.

Connie Ebert reported that Meadowlands Country Club has expressed interest in returning to Inter-club.  Connie gave them the necessary forms to complete before they can re-enter.

Marie Zweier, Scheduling, reviewed some rules that were highlighted in the 2008 handbook.  She corrected the Inter-club date listed as May 26.  It should read May 27 (Tuesday).  Marie indicated the Haddon Field Club could not fill a Cup 12.  Huntingdon Valley will add a team to Cup F.

Chris Morrison asked for four Representatives to serve on the Nominating Committee which is chaired by Denise Dougher.  The volunteers are Rose Weinstein, Patti Baron, Edwina Davis, and Lori Krain.

Chris announced the future dates:

APRIL 10 – COORDINATORS ONLY

APRIL 16 – WEDNESDAY – CAPTAINS’ MEETING

APRIL 21 – MONDAY CUPS BEGIN MATCHES

APRIL 23 -  WEDNESDAY CUPS BEGIN MATCHES

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:50.
