THE WOMEN’S INTER-CLUB TENNIS ASSOCIATION


MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF MARCH  15, 2007


A regular meeting of the Women’s Inter-club Tennis Association was held on March 15, 2007 at the Merion Cricket Club. The meeting was called to order at 10:10 by Chris Morrison, President.

Absent:  Chester Valley, Philadelphia Country, and Radnor Hunt

At this time Chris asked the representatives to check the Captains’ envelopes for the necessary forms for this season.  She also reminded the representatives that all players must have a USTA number, and that they are to sign the rosters for their club.

Chris introduced Kitty Perrin the Tennis Service Representative for the USTA.

The minutes of the January 4, 2007 meeting were approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was presented by Janet Dzubow.  She reported a balance of $11,811.25

Clubs who still owe dues are Green Valley, N.J., Mill Dam, Wallingford, White Manor, and Whitford.  All dues must be paid before the start of inter-club.

Janet also reported that the web site is up to date. Schedules and inter-club information is on the web site which can be found in the book.

Joy Susanin, Officer-at-Large, reported that all the Coordinators positions are filled.  The meeting and lunch will be held on Thursday, April 12, at Merion Cricket Club.

Gail Yard, Match Chairman, reviewed some important details for the 2007 inter-club season.  1. Members must be bona fide members of a club. 2. Players may play for only one club.

Gail stressed that the Club representatives should make sure the captains understand the rules and fill out the line-ups correctly.  Line-ups need to be signed by the Club Representatives.

It was noted at this time that Wayne Swim & Tennis Cups 11 & 12 will be playing out of Green Valley, Pa., due to construction at Wayne.

Connie Ebert, Admissions, reported that no new teams have applied for membership.

Lucy Rainone, Nominating Committee, requested volunteers to serve on the nominating committee.  The volunteers are Rose Weinstein, Lisa Falasco, Patti Baron, and Nina Zotner.

Marie Zweier, Scheduling, reported some changes to the schedule.  Cup 12 will add White Manor to make four teams instead of three.  Cup F will add two new teams,
Moorestown and UMLY.

Marie also noted a clarification of the substitute rule on page 30 of the tennis handbook.

Chris announced the future dates of meetings.

APRIL 12 – Coordinators meeting in the Boardroom
APRIL 18 – WEDNESDAY – Captains’ meeting in the Ballroom
APRIL 23 -  Monday Cups begin
APRIL 25 – Wednesday Cups begin

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:45.
