THE WOMEN’S INTER-CLUB TENNIS ASSOCIATION OF PHILA.
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF JANUARY 10, 2008
A regular meeting of The Women’s Inter-club Tennis Association of Philadelphia, held at Merion Cricket Club, was called to order by Gail Yard, President at 10:10 a.m.
Absent: Buckingham, Germantown, Green Valley/NJ, Haddon Field, Haverford, Radnor Valley, UMLY, Wayne Swim, and Wilmington.
The minutes of the November 8, 2007 minutes were approved as corrected.
Treasurer, Joy Susanin, read the Treasurer’s Report. The new balance is $6,789.52. The report was filed. Joy also read the 2008 budget, which was approved. She announced that bills would be sent to clubs February 1, 2008. Any changes in directions should be reported to Joy, so that they may be posted on the web site.
Janet Dzubow, Match Chairman, asked all Club Representatives to meet with their Captains to thoroughly review the rules.
Beverly Carroll, 2nd Vice-President, expressed thanks to all Coordinators who were returning. She requested that anyone interested in coordinating see her after the meeting.
Connie Ebert reported that no new clubs have applied for admission.
Marie Zweier, Scheduling, stated that any clubs dropping or adding teams let her know today.
New Business - President, Gail Yard, explained a new format for the Club Representatives to take back to their captains for consideration:

Play two (2) singles and five (5) doubles (the current format)A vote will be taken at the April 3rd meeting.
A discussion ensued regarding not doubling up and also doubles playing first. Doubles are played first when teams are indoors, but this can be done if both captains agree during outdoor play.
The next meeting will be held on April 3, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Card Room.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
