THE WOMEN’S INTER-CLUB TENNIS ASSOCIATION OF PHILADELPHIA

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF MARCH 26, 2009

The meeting was called to order by President, Gail Yard, at 10:09 a.m. Gail requested all new Club Representatives to please come to the head table at the close of the meeting and to check bags for proper number of cup envelopes.

Absent: Whitford.

The minutes of the meeting of January 8, 2009 were approved as read.

The Treasurer’s report was submitted by Joy Susanin. The report shows a balance of $6,569.11. Dues are still owed by the following clubs: Green Valley of PA, Idle Hour, South Jersey, St. Albans, UMLY, and White Manor. Inter-club received a thank-you note for our donation to Arthur Ashe.

Janet Dzubow, Match Chairman, explained all the forms and information that was inside the reps packet. She reminded all reps to have meetings with their respective captains to review all of the rules and rule changes. Janet asked each club rep to review the roster forms to be handed in and make sure that her signature is on the completed line-up form. Please be advised that all of the information in the pink book is also on the website.(www.interclub.homestead.com)

Gail Yard speaking for the absent Beverly Carroll, 2nd Vice-President informed us that the next meeting for Cup Coordinators will be April 2nd at 10:00a.m. in the boardroom at Merion. A luncheon will follow.

Connie Ebert, Admissions, reported no new teams have asked for admission.

Marie Zweier, Scheduling, reviewed the rule changes. There will be one hole in Cup 9 due a late team drop-out. Cup F and Cup 12 have had further additions and the new schedules will be handed out at the captain’s meeting. Please be aware that we have an extended season with challenge matches and double jumps. Marie read a note from the Scheduling Committee requesting teams please have all changes in by January. As the schedulers try to accommodate everyone, lateness causes many problems such as home vs. away matches and adequate court space.

Denise Dougher, Nominating Committee, requested four volunteers for her committee. They are; Lisa Falasco from St. Albans, Nina Zodtner from Aronimink, Amy Hartzog from Martin’s Dam, and Edwina Davis from Chester Valley.

Under new business, it was brought to our attention that a Past President of Inter-Club, Virginia Coslett, has passed away. More information will follow.

The next meeting will be held on April 15, 2009 at 10:00a.m. in the ball room. This is our annual Captain’s meeting. ALL TEAMS must have a representative present.

Incase of inclement weather, please check you email, KYW, or call Merion Cricket Club at 610-642-5800.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:53a.m.

Respectfully submitted
Patti Baron
Secretary
