MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF MARCH 25, 2004



A regular meeting of the Women's Inter-Club Tennis Association of Philadelphia, held at the Merion Cricket Club, was called to order by Lucy Rainone, President, at 9:35 a.m..

She advised Club Representatives to check their packages for the information and forms necessary for clubs to participate in the 2004 tennis season.



ABSENT:  The Cynwyd Club, Green Valley Country Club, Pa., Picket Post Tennis Club, Westtown Tennis Club



The Minutes of the January 8, 2004 Meeting were approved as read by the Secretary.



In the absence of the Treasurer, Marie Zweier, Scheduling Committee, reported that dues have not been received from the following clubs:  The Cynwyd Club, Cedarbrook Country Club, Ft. Washington Swim & Tennis Club, Green Valley Country Club, Pa., Huntingdon Valley Country Club, Kennett Square Golf & Country Club, Llanerch Country Club, Mount Laurel Racquet Club, Radnor Valley Country Club, Riverton Country Club, Swarthmore Tennis Club, Wallingford Swim & Tennis Centre, White Manor Country Club, Whitford Country Club.  Clubs whose dues are not paid prior to the opening day of inter-club matches will be unable to participate during the 2004 season.  Representatives of Clubs having questions regarding the payment of dues should contact Janet Dzubow, Treasurer.



Giving the Treasurer's Report for the period 10/16/03-3/20/04, Marie Zweier reported an ending balance of $7,253.81.  The Treasurer's Report was approved as read.



Chris Morrison, Match Chairman and 1st Vice-President, pointed out the inclusion of revised Women's Inter-Club Tennis Locations, 2004 in the Captain's packets.  She advised Club Representatives to meet with their Captains to review the Inter-ClubTennis Association's rules; and she reminded them that the Club Representative's signature is required on Team Line-up Forms and Revised Team Line-up Forms.   Chris wished everyone a successful season.



Club Representatives were reminded that Cup Coordinators are available to assist them as well as Club Captains.



Marie Zweier noted that the schedule for Cup 12 is not accurate as printed in the 2004 schedule handbook, and it will be addressed at the Captains' Meeting, April 15, 2004, in the Ball Room, Merion Cricket Club.

                                                                                                          
The following members volunteered to serve with Donna Beers, Officer-at-Large, on the Nominating Committee:  Edwina Davis, Chester Valley Golf Club; Nina Zodtner, Aronimink Golf Club; Lynne Neefe, Waynesborough Country Club; and Rose Weinstein, Wayne Swim & Tennis Centre.



Louisa Sweeney, Haverford Tennis Club, and Barbara Pitocchelli, Merion Cricket Club, reported on the Senior Women's Grass Court Championship Matches beginning September 19, 2004 and requested volunteers to assist in the event.  Information sheets were available and more information can be obtained from Lee McGrath, Tel. 215-836-9115, Ext. 104,or by logging onto the internet at seniorsport.org.



Future meetings, at the Merion Cricket Club, were announced as follows:



           April 8, 2004, Thursday  Cup Coordinators Only, Board Room, 10:00 a.m.



           April 15, 2004, Thursday  Captains' Meeting, Ball Room, 9:30 a.m.


Season Starts  Monday, April 26th and Wednesday, April 28th.


There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:05 a.m..
