MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF NOVEMBER  10, 2005

Following the presentation of awards for the 2005 season by Match Chairman, Gail Yard, the meeting was called to order by President, Chris Morrison at 10:10 a.m.

Absent were:  Buckingham, Fort Washington, Haverford, Overbrook, Pennypacker, Picket Post, Ply Mar, West Chester, Westtown

President, Chris Morrison, introduced the Executive Committee and then requested the club representatives to introduce themselves.

The minutes of the March 31, 2005 meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer, Janet Dzubow, presented the Treasurer’s Report and the Annual Financial Report which shows a balance of $5, 781.78.  The reports were filed for audit.  The proposed budget for 2005-2006 was also presented.

Match Chairman, Gail Yard, commented on the 2005 season.  She indicated that the overall season was successful, thanks in part to good weather.  Gail stated that there were still a number of defaults during the season which usually occurred when captains put players or substitutes in the wrong position.  Gail indicated that several clubs did not have USTA  membership numbers for their players.  She also commented that there were eight cell phone forfeits.

Bernie Maloney, former President, encouraged all players whose cell phones rang during a match to take responsibility for the error, and forfeit the match.

Lucy Rainone, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, presented the 2006 slate for the Executive Board and thanked the members for their participation.

There being no nominations from the floor, the above slate was unanimously elected.

Connie Ebert, Admissions, reported that no new clubs had applied for admission to Inter-club.

Marie Zweier, Scheduling, requested that any clubs dropping a team this year please contact her before January.

In other business, Rose Weinstein reported that the USTA dues will increase.

Connie Ebert noted the recent passing of Mrs. Hammond.  The Hammond’s Cup is named for her.

The next meeting will be held on January 5, 2006 at 10:00 in the Card Room. All representatives should come to the January meeting with the names and phone numbers of their team captains.
